Telling the Truth About Trafficking & Assault

The more educated the public is about trafficking and sexual assault, the better they are equipped to stop it. The ICT S.O.S. team developed a curriculum to provide trafficking education to the community, and to equip those interested in teaching others about this important topic.

Our Educational Modules

Our curriculum includes modules about human trafficking for both labor and commercial sex, as well as sexual assault and consent and the power of language.

Human Trafficking

This is a hot-button and often misunderstood issue in our society today. Through our curriculum we seek to provide accurate information about the ways in which human traffickers operate, how they target their victims, and what to watch for and how to help if you suspect someone is being trafficked. This curriculum will help community organizations, churches, and schools identify dangers and provide ways to access resources.

Sexual Assault & Consent

Human trafficking often starts with abuse. In this educational module we define sexual assault which includes unwanted touching, fondling, forced sexual acts, and rape. We will examine barriers for reporting as well as how individuals can support friends and loved ones who have been sexually assaulted. This module also discusses the importance of consent, and what consent should look like.

Power of Language

The words we use around the issue of trafficking are important. If we’re not careful, our conversations can re-traumatize survivors and further stigmatize victims. In this module we will examine how to speak about trafficking in general, and how to speak to those who are trafficking survivors.

Facilitator Guide

It takes the power of community to fight human trafficking. Our facilitator guide will equip you with the knowledge necessary to teach these curriculums and provide education to those around you. No matter where you live, our curriculum can help you fight human trafficking through education and empathy.
